Welcome to the Year Two webpage!

Year two is the last year of Key Stage One.  The class teachers are Miss Walsh and Mrs Harvey.  We also have the wonderful Mrs Skeoch working in our classroom. There are 30 talented children in our class who all have lots of different skills and strengths.  Our aim is to make sure that everyone of them achieves their maximum potential and have fun as they are doing it.

Our Numeracy and Literacy lessons are very important as we build on the skills we have learnt in Reception and Year 1.  We follow the government's DCSF National Strategies Primary Framework where progression is seen across units and key skills are revisited each term.

At the moment in Numeracy we all trying to learn our 2 times tables.  To help us with this we have played some games on the following websites.

Teaching Tables

Multiplication Games

So far we have enjoyed playing Table Mountain on Teaching Tables and Car Wash on Multiplication Games.  Click on the names of the sites above and see which games you enjoy playing.  Hopefully you'll have fun and learn your times tables!!!

At the moment in Literacy we are studying books bu the same author.  We have been focusing on books by Anthony Browne and have enjoyed reading: Willy the Wimp, The Night Shimmy and Piggybook.

To find out more about Anthony Browne click here.

In our earlier units of work we looked at writing speech bubbles and made our own comics using a website.  Click on the link below and you too can make your own comic!!!
